• Route 786 Route Diversion at Pendock Road Cranebrook

    Effective from Saturday 25 May 2013

    Due to several safety incidents along Pendock Rd, current diversion implemented on Monday 20th May, 2013 will remain in place until last bus Friday 24 May, 2013.

    Following meetings with the Police and further consideration, Westbus drivers have agreed to return to most service areas, with the exception of a continuing ban on services through Pendock Rd.

    The following will apply from Saturday 25 May, 2013 until further notice:

    Route 784 will return to normal route
    Route 786 will return to most service areas with the exception that all services will divert via Sherringham Rd and will not travel down Pendock Rd.

  • Fare increases from 6 January 2013

    The NSW Government has announced fare increases which will take effect from Sunday 6 January 2013.

    All adult MyZone single tickets will increase by 20 cents for train and ferry services and by 10 cents for bus services.

  • New timetable for Westbus routes in the Penrith, St Marys and Mt Druitt areas

    From Monday 26 November 2012 there will be new timetables on routes 759, 770, 771, 774, 775, 776, 778, 779, 780, 781, 782, 784, 785, 786, 789, 791, 793, 795, 797 and 799 operated by Westbus and many bus services will have reduced running times.

    The changes include the introduction of hourly Sunday and Public Holiday services on route 799. Customers will have this new travel option between Glenmore Park and Penrith from 8am to 8pm. All these new services will be air conditioned low floor wheelchair accessible buses. 

    The route 782 service has been extended from Werrington to St Marys during the day on weekdays & Saturdays, replacing the route 782E shuttle service.

    To improve reliability to some school bus services, we have increased coordination with school start and finish times. 

    The changes have been made in response to community feedback and are designed to help improve the reliability, convenience and availability of bus services in this community.

    New timetables are available online and distributed to customers using these services from Monday 19 November 2012. 

    The revised timetable for route 759770, 771, 774, 775, 776, 778779,  780, 781, 782, 784, 785,786, 789, 795, 791, 793, 797,799 commencing Monday 26 November 2012 are now available online.

  • Nepean Street Closure Cranebrook Route 673 Re-routing into Waterside Estate

    From Monday 22 October

    The Westbus route 673 service will be travelling via a new route from Monday 22 October 2012.

    The permanent closure of Nepean Street for all through traffic requires the route 673 service to travel via Cranebrook Rd, Waterside Blvd, U Turn at roundabout with Lakeview Dr, Waterside Blvd, Cranebrook Rd, Andrews Rd and Laycock St, as shown on the map below. Alternative bus stops will be installed on the route by council.

    The new route will provide more convenient access to residents in Waterside. There will be minor adjustments to travel times.

    The revised timetable for route 673 commencing Monday 8 October is now available online.

  • New Buses - Introducing additional and amended Westbus and Hopkinsons bus services in Region 3

    From Monday 10 September 2012

    From Monday 10 September, routes 802, 803, 804, 809, 810X, 811X, 818 & 820 will have new timetables that include extra trips, longer operating hours and additional seating capacity for customers. 

    Specific timetable improvements include:

    - The popular Route 804 will have 5 additional weekday trips, 7 additional Saturday trips and 25 additional Sunday trips. A number of existing trips have also been extended to improve service coverage.

    - The trip times of the routes 809, 810X, 811X & 820 have been amended to more accurately reflect actual travel times with buses arriving up to 2 mins earlier on some trips.

    - Route 818 services have been amended to maintain a 30 minute service between Hilltop Shops and Merrylands during off peak periods.

    - Route 803 has been altered to operate from Liverpool to Miller and return instead of continuing to The Valley Plaza. Buses will now travel along Cartwright Ave, Willandra St, Banks Rd and Cabramatta Ave

    - Night time trips on Route 802 have been altered to provide improved rail connections at Liverpool.

    The changes have been made in response to community feedback and are designed to help improve the reliability, convenience and availability of bus services in this community.

    New Region 3 school timetables commencing Monday 10 September is now available online.

    The new timetables are now available online and are being distributed to customers on these routes. Customers are advised to check their service times for any changes that may affect their normal travel plans.

  • Westbus Service Restrictions Route 674, 759 & 780

    Due to an assault of a Bus Driver in the Whalan area on Monday night, the St Marys Bus Depot services were temporarily suspended on Tuesday 15 March.  Westbus and the Drivers Union have held discussions to reach a safety agreement that will restore bus services to the normal timetable.

    Safety and security discussions are continuing and Westbus will be issuing updated information when available.

  • Route 759 Diversion All services after 7pm

    Due to several robberies in the Emerton area over the past week, diversions for the route 759 service will come into affect from 7pm
    each evening, including weekends.

    Westbus, the TWU and local Police are working to resolve this issue so that normal services can resume. This diversion will be as follows:

    Carlisle Ave Left - Woodstock Ave, Left - Popondetta Road, Right - Luxford Road, Left - Hatherton Road
    To Mt Druitt
    Hatherton Road, Right - Luxford Road, Left - Popondetta Road, Right - Woodstock Ave, Right - Carlisle Ave
